Cito On The Beat

A very good friend of mine introduced me to this incredible young man, who goes by the professional moniker, Cito On The Beat.  This dude is a real prodigy.  The son of a musician, he plays the piano, trumpet, guitar, drums, you name it.

He is also a prolific producer, equally at home on a Korg keyboard as he is with an MPC.  He shared with me a video for a song he produced, and well, I’ll let you be the judge…

Oh BTW, that’s Cito in the video (the big one).  He produced and directed the video himself.  He’s got a bunch of YouTube videos on his channel, where he demonstrates his beat making.  I’m telling you, this kid is incredible.

I imagine that this is what Pharrell, Timabland, Mark Ronson, et al were doing in their youth.  I’m not certain that they were this prodigious, though.

Anyway, I’m taking this kid under my wing because he’s humble and he’s hungry.  So if you see me at the Grammies on day, sitting next to Cito as he stands to receive the Producer of the Year Award, remember this article.

Cito on the Beat!
